Dolly's appearances in the 70's are not well documented at all, only through hard research and information supplied by other fans have we been able to provide the following information. From the time Dolly joined up with The Porter Wagoner Show in 1967, she toured exclusively with him and his Wagonmasters. Most of these shows, up until the end of 1971, were made up of package tours of several Country stars of the era performing on the same bill. From 1972 Porter Wagoner decided that these package tours were restricting the exposure of his own acts and the ability to give a polished, professional show. From that point on they started playing smaller venues and in turn charged much less for tickets.
Dolly didn't actually start playing solo gigs until August 1974, which was when she left the Porter Wagoner Show. During her first few solo years, it was standard for her to share the bill with just one other artist and those included Mac Davis, Eddie Rabbitt and Merle Haggard, amongst others.
